GETTING YOUR HOME READY TO SELL
Before you begin to show your home for sale, there are some things you must do. Remember that you get only one opportunity to make a “first impression.”
CLUTTER
No prospective buyer will look beyond the clutter in your home to see what a nice home it is, and how it would be perfect for their family. Before you begin to show your home you MUST de-clutter. There are many ways to do that
- Throw stuff out. It is time.
- Give stuff away.
- Clear your closets by boxing and storing things that you don’t wear somewhere in the home.
- Move your clutter to a storage facility.
PICTURES
With today’s electronic age, the first time a prospective buyer will see your home is on the internet. If your pictures do not arouse an interest, you will never know the prospective buyers you have lost. It is important that your pictures make a good “first impression.”
Be sure that you have adequate lighting in the areas being photographed. Dimly lit pictures are not romantic, they are deal killers. If necessary, bring in extra lighting to light the room before you take your pictures. Your objective is to get that buyer to want to come see it for themselves. We have professional photographers available who can assist you in creating this best impression.
REPAIRS (COSMETIC & OTHERWISE)
Any good broker will look at your home and tell you what needs to be repaired or painted. Sometimes a coat of paint and new carpet can make the best presentation. In the absence of a broker you need to make an honest assessment of what is needed to put your home in a condition where it will make a good impression on prospective buyers. We can make it all happen for you with the least amount of stress. Our office can provide you with referrals to qualified and reliable
